Choosing a Framer template by the job your site has to do
Start from what a visitor should do when they arrive, and the choice gets short quickly.
It is tempting to pick a template by how it looks. Looks are the easiest part to change: colours and fonts are styles, and pictures are files you swap. What is hard to change is structure, the pages and sections a site is built from. So start there, with the one thing you want a visitor to do.
| If a visitor should | Look at |
|---|---|
| Sign up before you launch | WaitlistOS, Reely, Streaks |
| Understand a product and buy it | Talos, Nixa |
| Call, book or visit | Bramley, Rep Republic |
| Get in touch about working together | The Counsel |
Sign up before you launch
A waitlist site has one job, and the good ones do not dress it up. WaitlistOS is a single page with email capture in the hero and again at the end. Reely is for when you need more around it: pricing, a community page and copy already written for an AI product. Streaks is for a mobile app, with a changelog early users can follow and the privacy and terms pages the app stores ask for.
Understand a product and buy it
Talos is built for companies with more than one product. Six product pages share one layout, and pricing has plan cards over a full comparison table. Nixa is for AI products that sell to enterprises, with compliance badges in the hero, a security section and a form for booking demos.
Call, book or visit
A local business has to answer practical questions fast. Bramley does it for trades and home services, with a page for each service showing price and turnaround. Rep Republic does it for gyms and studios, with programme cards and a grid of locations.
Get in touch about working together
Consultants and coaches sell trust more than features. The Counsel is calm and editorial, with an approach page, a page on what an engagement holds and a multi-part enquiry form.
Then check the details
- Pages. List the pages you need and compare them with the template's own list. Adding a page is easy. Adding a whole kind of page, like pricing with a comparison table, is real work.
- CMS. If you will publish articles, updates or services often, choose a template that already has a collection for them.
- Price. Five of the eight templates are free. If a free one fits the job, start there.
Every template page shows the whole site before you buy, and the free ones open straight in Framer. The quickest way to be sure is to look.
