A quiet personal site for a designer or builder: who you are, what you made and what you wrote.

Ellery is a free Framer template for a personal site, made for a designer or builder who wants one calm page about them. Its 5 pages include a home page with an intro, summary and portrait, a projects list, writing on the CMS and a 404. Light and dark modes are built in.

## One calm page about you, with your work and your writing beside it.

Ellery is a personal site that fits on one screen of reading: a short intro beside a portrait, a summary in six lines, your socials, then your projects and your writing side by side.

It is set in Inter alone, in light and dark, with a toggle that remembers each visitor's choice. The header carries your name, a live clock and the temperature where you are.

### Made for

- Designers and builders
- Independent makers with a few projects to show
- Anyone who writes short notes as well as making things

### Best for

- Designers and developers between roles
- Makers with side projects and notes
- A personal page to link from every profile

### Not for

- Studios showing case studies
- Photographers whose work is the pictures

### Also consider

- [Lola](https://openfile.pro/template/lola): A site for a small design studio that makes websites, brands and graphics.
- [Elias Vane](https://openfile.pro/template/elias-vane): A portfolio for a landscape or travel photographer, built around series rather than single frames.

### Everything on the first page

The home page holds the intro, a six-line summary, your socials, four projects and every post, so a visitor sees the whole of you without clicking.

### Projects and writing on the CMS

Each project is a row with its logo in a coloured circle and a link out; each post has its own page with a link to the next.

### Small touches that feel alive

A live clock and the local temperature in the header, a spinning record that plays a song in an overlay, and an intro where your portrait springs into place.

## Desktop, tablet and phone

The Ellery home page at each breakpoint, captured from the published site. Each layout is set separately, not scaled down.

- Desktop, 1440 pixels
- Tablet, 810 pixels
- Phone, 390 pixels

- The writing posts are stand-in text, to replace in the Writing collection.

Your own sites and client work

- Use it for client work, as part of a site you build for them.

#### You cannot

- Sell, share or give away the template itself.

A plain summary. The binding text is Framer's Community Terms, and the licence page explains both. [Read the licence](https://openfile.pro/licence)

## Before you buy

### What do I get with Ellery?

The whole site as a Framer project: 5 pages, 2 CMS collections, laid out for desktop, tablet and phone. Leave your email and the remix link is sent to it; Framer copies the site into your workspace.

### How do I make it mine?

1. Remix the template.
2. Replace the name, portrait, intro and summary.
3. Set the clock's time zone and the temperature's location to your own.
4. Edit the Projects and Writing collections.
5. Update page titles and meta descriptions, then publish.

### Do I need to write code?

No. Text, images, colours and CMS entries are all edited in place in the Framer editor.

### Can I use it on more than one website?

The Free licence covers your own sites and client work. The licence page has the details.

### What if I get stuck?

Write to support@openfile.pro. Replies come within 48 hours on weekdays, and setup questions and bugs in the template are covered.

### Where do Ellery's clock and temperature come from?

Both are code components in the file. The clock ticks every second in a time zone you choose, and the temperature comes from Open-Meteo, which needs no key, for a latitude and longitude you set, refreshing every 15 minutes. Change the location label in the header to match.

### How does the light and dark toggle in Ellery work?

Every colour style has a light and a dark value. With no choice made, the site follows the visitor's system setting; once they press the sun or moon, their choice is kept in their browser for the next visit.

### Can I change the song in Ellery's now playing row?

Yes. The title is a text component and the overlay plays a YouTube video, so you set your own song by changing the title and the video's address. The record artwork is an image you can swap too.
